Makita Spindle Mount won't attach to HDZ

Hey,

I’m assembling my Shapeoko Pro XXL. I have installed my HDZ and am now trying to attach my spindle mount to it.

The M5 screws attach fine through the spindle mount onto the HDZ. However, the M6 bolts can’t get through the bloody spindle mount to even get to the HDZ to fixture to.

I get about this far in (see pictures) and the M6 bolts are just totally stuck and won’t go further in. You can see the scratches on the mount where I’m having to force the M6 bolt to screw through (very, very tough to get in compared to the M5 which just slotted in with no issues)

Any one able to tell me what I’m doing wrong or if it’s a faulty spindle mount?

When you pull the screw back out, do you see distress on the ends of the bold thread?

Flipping the mount around, does the hole look clean all the way up?

Will the M6 thread into the plate by hand without the mount in place?

It looks almost as if the bolt is not going in straight where the head of the bolt is hitting the relief cut for the bolt. If you put the bolt in from the other side does it look to be a straight shot through or is the bolt on a slight angle, like the hole is not perpendicular to the mounting face?

@tobwhy The hole spacing on the top and bottom of the mound are different, You might be installing it upside down. Try flipping it over.

Good catch, the clamping screws should be on the right hand side.
