Hello,
I see a lot of posts regarding stuck collet but my router is stuck. I purchased the Makita router so it came with an adapter for it to fit in the spindle (unlike the Dewalt that just fits). It used to slide in and I could tighten the 2 screws to secure it but starting about 18 months ago the fit has gotten tighter and tighter to the point now where if the bushing is in the spindle the Makita router won’t slide all the way into it and if I can force it down it is stuck so I can’t get it out. This happens even if the 2 tightening screws are totally removed. I’m not sure of a fix. Any thoughts would be welcome.
Anders.
Normally one doesn’t remove/reinstall the spindle w/ any regularity — if need be, it should work to use a screwdriver or other suitable tool to pry the mount open.
Thank you. It does work to use a screwdriver to pry the mount open but it’s still tough. I’ll go with minimizing removing the router.
