Marble game in carbide create

So I created an act in illustrator and imported into cc. I’m trying to use modeling to create marble divets in cc and use 3d tool paths to cut it out. I’m running into a situation where not all my circles that I’ve selected are having the 3d affect applied

What am I doing wrong? Is there a limitation to how many circles I can do modeling on. I don’t think so because this happened no matter how few or many I selected, some were not showing. See screenshot . Please help!

Do you have doubled up geometry?

Also, are some of the paths open (indicated by being magenta)?

I did a Chinese Checkers (Halma) game a while back:

There shouldn’t be any doubles up circles, but I’m not sure about open paths. That could be my issue I guess? How do I close paths? In illustrator?

in CC you can select the purple paths, and a “fix it” button should appear where normally the path editor is…

(you may need to do this one by one)

Ideally the paths would be closed in Illustrator, but it persists in allowing one to fill paths which are open which is just bizarre to me
