McFly cutter 602e

Trying to locate the McFly 1/4in. 602e surfacing bit. Carbide 3d says it’s currently out of stock. Anyone know where I can find one? Thank you.

I did a quick search and found it at the sparkfun web site. It doesn’t say whether it’s in stock or not.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. I will check it out.

There seem to be several ‘similar ones’ on Amazon, just search for McFly surfacing cutter.

That said, which one do you need for the 65mm spindle? I’m confused about the ER16/ER20 collet notes on the 8mm, which looks like the 80mm spindle.

Does that mean the 602E 1/4 is the right one for the 65mm spindle?

I use this one off amazon since I like to drop bits and ruin them. I like replaceable carbide inserts. This is for 1/2 inch collet for my 80 mm spindle but they make smaller ones too. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085QGLHB4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I had my bits confused with my bobs. I guess I never looked at the mcfly or I might have bought one. lol it has replaceable inserts too.

The #602E has a 1/4" shank, so will work with the 65mm VFD or 80mm VFD using a 1/4" collet.

The #603E has an 8mm shank, and it also can be used with those units — so long as one sources an 8mm collet.

Perfect. Thank you very much.
