Looking to see how far anyone has pushed the McFly cutter. The you tube video on it offers 2mm or .078 inch as a depth per pass. Not bad but w/the 60 inch per second feed rate I’m finding the times for a larger flattening project are pretty long
I will use .040 doc at 200 ipm on pine.
I removed the two bottom cutters per @wmoy suggestions.

Thanks Jim. As I’ve done a little more research I don’t think I should push it. I’m wanting to flatten an epoxy resin pour, not too deep just a large surface
I have never cut resin before. How’s the surface finish ? Did you remove the bottom cutters ?
When I’m surfacing wood I run 0.1" DOC at 120 ipm, 14,000 rpm. When I’m surfacing an epoxy inlay I run 0.01" DOC at 200 IPM, 14,000 rpm. I also removed the two horizontal cutters.
Edit: I have the 5 pro with 65mm spindle.

Haven’t made a move yet, the board curled up so I’m giving it a couple days under wait to flatten back out. I’ll let you know
