Mirror a copy about a line

I’m new to all of this but have used CAD software before. One feature I’ve used is the ability to mirror/copy an object about a line. This works well when you want an exact copy and exact distance from say a center line.

I can’t seem to find that in CC. Am I missing it?

Thank you.

Mirror mirrors about the center of the selected objects. Include a line or any vector that has a node on the centerline, and use that to position the mirrored objects.

Welcome to the forum, Tod1d explained it as it works for me the few times I have used it so far.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m not sure I’m following exactly. My goal is to position a few items on one side of a board…then, mirror/copy those exactly the same to the other side using a line positioned in the exact center of the board. Does that make sense? Does “mirror” have that option in CC?

No, one has to have symmetrical geometry with a greater extent, centered on the desired line of rotation.

If one wishes to flip this so that it is mirrored on the Stock:

Then draw geometry representing the Stock:

Select it and the geometry which you wish to flip:

and Mirror:

Usually, I just do the flip and then “drag into alignment”.

I believe you are interpreting this correctly. I would draw original element with geometry (square the size of workspace or project) and then draw in a reference centering line based on where you want the object to reside. Then copy/mirror object and paste/align on centering reference line with specific nodes to match original as Tod1d stated.
