We are going to be moving and plan to take my Shapeoko Pro Standard. I have it setting on a mobile base which will also be moved. A moving company will likely be involved. Any special precautions?
The ideal of course is to disassemble into the original boxes/packaging — that’s almost never an option, so a good fall-back is to remove the spindle/router, the carriage, and the gantry and package them up carefully (along with the power supply which often goes missing) using the reverse of the assembly instructions.
Alternately, on a Pro you can just reinstall the shipping bolts and then use blocking/packaging/foam to protect the machine so that the carriage and gantry cannot move and the rails won’t be damaged (still remove the spindle/router and package the power supply carefully).
