Mscvr120.dll not found

hi i installed carbide motion this am and when trying to open the program i get the error message mscvr120.dll was not found i reinstalled the programm and have the same issue any ideas

Please see:

but current versions use 140 — why are you running an older version?

I got the same msg, and also vcruntime140 when installing latest version

after downloading the files i get application start error

Please try the standard computer troubleshooting things:

  • reboot
  • check for updates
  • shutdown
  • power up and try again

If that doesn’t work, try making a new user account w/ admin privileges and try things under it.

If you continue to have difficulties please contact us at support@carbide3d.com

i did all the primary stuff even uninstalled and reinstalled. No joy , then i went into the x86 folder for motion and hit the .exe for all the drivers and it fixed the problem. DOnt know if during the install the software didnt execute them but it worked after I did that.

Windows seems to be kinda stupid in this regard. There are 32 and 64 bit versions of the mscvr dll, and when installing carbide create/motion it doesn’t always seem to pick up the correct version of the dll to install.
