Nothing earth shattering here, I’m just happy with my surface finish and wanted to share:
This is EN AW-6082 Aluminium. I’m using a 6mm 3-flute finishing endmill. Did a “roughing” pass at 0.05mm DOC, then a finishing pass at 0.01mm DOC. Both passes I used 450mm/min feed rate, 10kRPM and 4.8mm stopover. No cooling or even air blast.
If anyone has ideas to improve it further I’d love to hear it but for now my next step is walls. For that I think I need better chip evacuation…
