I decided to create my first chess board with the Shapeoko, so I searched chess boards and came across this thread. Those are very cool indeed. I always forget to use the v-bit or experiment with it more. I found a piece of Lati wood that was 15” wide so was able to squeeze in a board all on one solid piece of wood, as was the goal. Used a little epoxy, but that one with your logo has an awesome look, as does the stone.

I was happy with it! A Father’s Day gift. I just stained every other square. Dark was ‘red oak’ stain and light with ‘golden pecan’
