My first Shapeoko Van

So I built one of these purely by hand and it took about 180 hours! But with my new Shapeoko 5 I can build one in about 20 hours! It makes the curved pieces so much more accurate and faster!!
Now I can finally build some Christmas trays for the wife!

I hope to make a VW bug next!
Thanks Shapeoko team! The possibilities are endless….

Thats awesome! Hits a sweet spot with me since I used to own a '71. Nice job!

Cowabunga man. Your bus is ready to hit the surf. Do you make other models?

Sweet model! Predates the '71 Westfalia camper conversion I used to own by a little.

This will be interesting to see what @tadams3931 will be creating over time.
Details, color/material selection and execution. Wow !

Thanks guys! Here is a pic of them both. The top one is the van done by hand. The one on the lower right is the Shapeoko van.
For the new van the base is Sapelle. The top is maple. The seats are Wenge and tables are Paduk.
My next one will have a Zebra wood base.
And I want to do a darker one using Wenge as the base and Mahogany as the top.
I 3d print the VW logo on the front and also the sink and cooktop inside.
The Shapeoko has opened up many possibilities for this build!
I will be adding the slit windows to the roof now that I have the CNC. This will be more like the 1963 23 window bus. Also known as the Kombi.

I have included a pic of the pre-build. There are many pieces!!

This is too cool! Hope you share the exact Carbide Create files to reproduce. I would love to build this, too. Again, great job!

The patterns came from a guy in England. His website is Dutchypatterns.com
He makes some incredible “toys”.
You will have to create the stl files from the patterns or the dxf files he sends. I don’t think I’m allowed to post the files. Sorry.
I’m new to this so don’t won’t to cross any lines. I know people make a living off their sites…
Thanks
