I’ve been fighting with my X Axis not wanting to properly home about 70% of the time. After some shop time today I have a fix that has worked for 8 homing cycles in a row and that I am confident enough to share with you all, too.
Space your X Axis homing sensor off the gantry as much as you can. The default machine screws that come with the machine will limit you to about 2.5mm, which seems to work for me, but some longer bolts and 5mm spacer would be most ideal. Photo below of what I used – stainless nuts that slipped over the bolts and act as my spacer.
I see you have it pushed all the way forward as well and I am curious if that stopped the Z plate from hitting the stops. I could hear it hit the end stops in your setup video when homing.
Just wanted to say that I tried this fix and have confirmed this is the problem and solution. However, to make this reliable for me, I have to space it off more than 1/2" to ensure the sensor detects the pull off and doesn’t latch. I think their is too much metal around the sensor for it to work reliably. Thanks
