My Text on Text Looks Terrible

My first try at text on text. I thought I had it all done correctly until I looked at the simulation!
I stacked the text and did a union, then put a copy of the top text over that and did pocket tool paths. I don’t know what happened. I tried 2 different fonts for the bottom text and they both look very bad.

You didn’t cut the top first.

See if this is what you needed.

Do you mean cut the pocket around the top word first? I just tried that and it’s no better.

Cutting text as a pocket does not really yield good results with most fonts/sizes of type/tool.

Instead, cut as an Advanced V carving, see:

The gaps are too small for that size tool. Either cut as an Advanced V-carve as Will suggested, or step down to a 1/32" tool.

1/32, wow. Would that actually work in a cnc? I will try the AVC; I think I should have thought of that, but this just seemed so straight forward. I’m beginning to realize that nothing to do with cnc is!
All the help from the forum is really amazing.
Thank you so much.

.063 is a good one for detail, and yes it works well in a cnc, just very slow process.
I have used as small as 0.25mm/radius.
