My machine will not longer initialize. When it goes to move the Z it makes a horrible sound. With the machine turned off, I know you can move the X and Y manually. Should I be able to turn the threaded rod on the Z? Can dust seize this up? I take it the best plan of action would be to remove the servo and see if the problem is in the rod assembly or the servo motor, correct?
I will check. I can’t turn the threaded rod manually. I’ve cleaned off all the dust and will lube. Should I remove the servo and try to turn the rod from the top?
Removed servo from top. Motor turns fine both manually and when charged. Turned shaft from top and initially was stif. Lubed the threaded rod and removed the grub screw from the top bearings and lubed. Can’t get to the lower set of bearings. Any trick to lubing the lower bearing without taking the HDZ apart?
