A side note on Table Top Epoxy and MakerPoxy. I used the MP on another small project and found it to be slightly less viscous. It was easier to pour into small pockets and much easier to use with syringes for detail work. Bubble escaped easily although I found that if I sealed my base material (MDF) I had very few bubbles anyway.
I do have a Grizzly drum sander and will likely use it in the future for bulk overpour removal. I don’t trust it at all for fine work. I’ve had a Grizzly 220v cabinet saw for 24 years and through two moves, it and the Shop Fox fence have stayed rock solid with a very rare minor tuneup.
I’ve had the drum sander for six months and its been a headache.
About 6 months ago I fixed a friends Grizzly Drum Sander. It was a nightmare working with Grizzly support to get the correct part numbers. The convener quit rotating. I am an experienced electronics technician and tried to figure out what was wrong. The parts list showed a circuit board but the Grizzly ordering database could not find it. I called CS at Grizzly and got a lot of run around. Finally I got the board ordered but it was back ordered for months. Finally got the part and installed it and things worked.
I also have a Grizzly 20" Planner that I had similar bad experience with customer support trying to sort out some adjustments. Finally got someone that knew what they were doing and it worked but it was a nightmare to get to the right person.
The Grizzly Drum Sander and the Grizzly planner both have their table move instead of their respective heads. I find that a problem. If you set up any support stands you basically have to readjust them about every other pass through the machine. The drum sander not so much but the planner it is a real problem. So if you ever replace your Grizzly suggest you get a tool that the head adjusts up and down and the conveyor/base stays stationary. The Jet, SuperMax and others have a stationary conveyor along with some other types like the flat master where the drum and table are both stationary.
Working with C3D customer support is like a night and day experience with Grizzly CS.
