Apple have a tighter control on their ecosystem, and so far as I understand nearly everything that runs on an Intel Mac runs on an M1 mac. I think we have people on the forum running CC and CM on an M1 mac with no issues.
The advantage (to users) for C3D to create an M1 version on Carbide Create and CM is one purely of performance.
