new to cnc’s, can somebody explain how you convert a letter that is 2 vectors into one? Or if you can’t, how do you size the second vector to match the letter?

We need more to work with. If you are using Carbide Create, upload your C2D file with what you have so far.
Separate elements can be grouped:

If that’s not what you mean, upload your .c2d file.

So what happened was i was pocketing out a name and at the end when the pocketing was done it went back to the letter A and cut out the middle portion for some reason.
2 separate requests to upload your file to determine what the issue is. It’s extremely hard to diagnose an issue based on an individuals explanation of the hardship. Please upload the file and let the forum get you the help you’re asking for.

A photo showing how the cut turned out will help as well.
If the file something which you don’t feel comfortable sharing, a screen grab of both the 2D drawing area and of the 3D preview may allow us to work through this with you.
