Out of curiosity, has anyone had to move their machine? I have the Shapeoko Pro XXL and I need to relocate in the shop (small space redesign). It’s only a few feet but the base I built for it originally and the new base are both fixed.
Any tips or warnings would be appreciated. I’m pretty apprehensive, especially about the reset-up.

Consider removing the spindle to reduce the weight.
Zip tie the carriage and gantry in place, plan out each stage of the movement.
should I disassemble any further than just the spindle?
For a few feet? Only if you can’t source assistance and you believe pieces would be more manageable and don’t mind re-assembly and re-squaring (FWIW, I lost track of how many times I disassembled and re-assembled my SO1 when first getting it set up).
That said, to channel an old quote from the original Shapeko forums:

(though admittedly that was much easier w/ a 1M x 1M SO2 than the current, much heftier machines)
and I have to admit that I just moved my own SO Pro XXL single-handedly from one side of my basement to the other…
I would get someone to help you move, just make sure the new table top is leveled across the top. It should be fine, I moved my 5 Pro with no issues from on table to another.
I used clamps to keep the x and y axis in place when moving my 4 standard. It helped a lot. I solo moved that because it seemed manageable at the time. I was moving it from basement to the car.
Re-set up is pretty easy. It’d probably be worth running a fun test project on some scraps after moving the machine to make sure it’s behaving as expected before you move on to the project on the one of a kind board made of unobtanium.
To add to Josh’s suggestion, I used zip ties when I shipped mine about 100 miles as well as removing the “Z”.
I was also thinking of removing a few of the mdf waste boards to lighten it more.
I wired up the new platform yesterday so it’ll be ready to plug n play.

After a year of having our house on the market and finally getting tired of waiting I ordered and set up my 5.1 with leg kit. 2 weeks later we got an offer.
No idea where we are going to go yet but it will be local. I don’t have any desire to take the machine apart so I plan to get a POD and roll it right in and strap it to the wall.
Add some padding between the machine and the wall, zip-tie the moving parts into a bottom corner (or at the center? Maybe pull an impression from photos of how the Nomad 4 is secured for shipping?) and unplug the motors from the controller and you should be good to go.

Congrats on the home sale! Hope your new place has a workshop… if/when I decide to move my new one will definatetly have a shop so I can move out of the dual purpose garage 
That’s one of the reasons we are moving. I have plenty of land here but can’t put a shop in due to HOA and doing any large projects in the garage is tough.
Thanks. Yeah, I have a lot of the foam from the original 5Pro packing so I will wedge that in there.
My only worry is the small wheels I have it on are good for the garage and probably the POD but definitely not my driveway so they will need to get the POD close or I will have to load down some plywood.
