New 5 Pro, A few projects I've completed with new machine

So I made the switch and upgraded to a 5 Pro in June, So far my projects and more importantly the 5 pro is working great. I Started my cnc journey in 2016 with building an Avid desktop 24x24.
It was a great machine to start with, but i always had visions of a 4x4 ft machine. I work out of my small basement shop and do not have the room for anything larger. I use Aspire always and found that importing into Carbide Create was easy, and furthermore material set up was easier then ever with the hybrid table and t slot clamps. I when with the 80 watt spindle and cant believe how much quieter it is from my router. So far I am very happy with all of it. i will attach a few photos of projects completed etc.

What material were you using?

I use a lot of HDU, cuts like butter.

@mickey3740

Thanks, carves nicely for sure!

I have not been able to find HDU locally. Do you get it shipped? I can’t imagine what shipping cost is on a sheet of that.

Same question as CullenS with a follow up of what is the average thickness used for your projects?

SirGariff also uses this product and perhaps he can chime in as well?

I get it somewhat locally and can pick it up.
Its about 40 minutes away.
I usually get one 4x8 sheet of 1.5 inch thick
And one sheet of 1.0 thick.
Depending on the project I use both.

Polymer Plastics is the company I get HDU from.

Thanks, seems a little pricey as mentioned above. I’ll have to see if I can get ahold of some locally.

Check with local sign shops, as they may have scrap pieces for you to purchase cheap.

There is a place called Interstate HDU that has pieces of any size and thickness that they can ship to you. A great option if you only need it for a single project.

I appreciate the information and suggestion.

Very nice work. It is expensive but well worth it. So easy on the tools.
