I really like these counter-tops that go on top of a gas stove, I made something out of a sheet of plywood years ago, but it looks so boring compared to these.
Is that epoxy filled? They look great.
A internet search for Noodle Boards will give you a lot of inspiration. I have a few picked out for the next holiday season already.

Nathan, yes they are epoxy filled. Then I do a complete rub of mineral oil and conditioner to seal the whole cover.
