New technique for hold downs on small parts

Has anyone tested if there a difference between blue, green and ordinary brown masking tape?

I use that old cheap tannish colored stuff. I run 3 strips of tape longwise along the edges and in the center of my part and then match that position on my spoilboard (6 strips of tape total). I then add a drop of thick CA every 2 or 3 inches along the tape on the spoilboard and finally marry up the tape on both items, holding it in place until I feel that it’s secure. I’ve not had a problem with it holding and I can ‘pry’ my part free without too much effort after the cut is done.
