Hi all. I recently acquired a 5 Pro 4 by 4. Tested prior to moving and was working fine. Now in my shop and trying to get it to connect to my computer. I’ve doublechecked all wires, and everything is on.
When I open Motion, The screen says “Not Connected” “No Configuration Found for the Attached Machine” and “Please Click the Set up Button Below”
So I click Setup, and the connection wizard starts. On the third screen, I am given the “Connect to Machine” option. I click that, and it appears to try to connect, the main screen changes to display “job Info” accross the top and position settings on the left. But after 5 seconds or so it reverts back the prior screen, and I’m back at the Connect to Machine" button.
I have turned everything off and on several times. I tried a different computer with a different connection cable and got the same results.
It is possible you have a bad controller but I would discount that. The Shapeoko controllers are very robust.
The most likely culprit is your OS. When the CM application is installed for the first time they install some runtime applications for the OS and the USB drivers for a Shapeoko. Did you see these go by when you installed CM? If they did install then you need to go into settings and check about your USB connections. Support will help you but as stated earlier this is likely an operating system problem and not necessarily a Shapeoko problem.
As @Ed.E and @quicky06 suggested make sure your machine is fully powered up. After that check on the OS issues.
