Newb needs direction to tutorials

Made my first cuts with my machine yesterday. It’s a garage-sale machine but I’m using Carbide Create V6 software to learn enough to be dangerous. Then I’ll buy 3d Pro.
Anyhow, my first project is a vine type engraving thing. Most of the time V-carve traces the lines, but in a few places it puts the tool path down the middle of an enclosed area, like a leaf and plunges the bit to get the width of the area resulting in a gouged out area.
Can someone please point me to a tutorial for how to edit tool paths? Thanks.

V-Carve Tutorial from John Clark

I just watched a youtube.com video from John Clark about V-Carving using Carbide Create. John Clark has a few videos that I have enjoyed. This one is very informative. In the video he explains some of the differences between 90, 60 and 45 degree bits and pocketing around an offset. I liked the content and recommend you go check it out. Thanks to John Clark.
