No Jog Until Initialize

I am still very new at this Shapeoko but it seems to me that I should be able to jog my spindle any time I want. But the way Carbide Motion is setup, I always after powering on, have to do an initialize. So when I initialize, I need to have a tool loaded into spindle.
Do I just need to leave the last tool mounted after last job?
Plus a very little thing but the rapid motion is faster to bring to front of this huge XXL monster.

I like to part the spindle in the far back when not in use.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?

This is how it was designed. The initalizing cycle sets internal coordinates. So the config you sent restricts jogging inside those parameters sent. If not for those parameters you could run the gantry into the stops and lose steps and cut your projects out wrong.
