Some of these might help.
But you should start with finger tightening the top nut.
Release the grub screws and check if the top screw can be turned by hand, and finger tighten it - refasten the grub screws.
I have had many issues with this… As you can see.
Last week i received my Nomad after waiting about 80 days for it.
I am pleased and happy about its performance and capabilities so far. Nothing really to compare it to being new to owning a cnc.
I noticed it right away but thought nothing of it at first, but i now notice the spindle being quite loose…
This causing the end mill to get caught and dragging on walls during contouring snapping endmills…
See video for the extent of the issue.
are there steps I can do to improve this? it is as muc…
I am on my third spindle on my 2 month old Nomad 3.
I believe, in my novice mind that I have treated the machine well so far, and have not really been pushing it very far.
The spindle is again loose. Both the top, and lower bearing make a clacking sound when moved with my finger.
A fresh spindle is silent, has no wobble, and performs well. After just a few hours of runtime the spindle bearings again have backlash. The spindle vibrates quite violently and can resonate and make a lot of noise.
…
Not sure of the exact name of this part…but the little nut on top of the spindle got loose…came off again. This is spindle #4 for me. I added some blue loctite and snugged it back on…however, if it’s too tight it creates a TON of heat in the spindle and the motor. Too loose…rattle and sloppy machining. Pretty difficult to get it just right. I really miss the old Nomad Pro spindle…no issues at all!
