Nomad 883 Pro not initializing

So, it’s been years since I’ve used my Nomad. I pulled it out of storage and “donated” it to work. I work for a University. I was trying to get it up to snuff and it wasn’t working. Here is what I have tried:

  1. Updated GRBL from .9 to 1.1f
  2. Updated to CM 636
  3. Went through numerous tries to Setup New Machine. It connects but never initializes.
  4. Tried Carbide Support, no responses yet (almost 24 hours)
  5. Then I Connect to Cutter and try to initialize there: “Homing cycle is not enabled via settings” error (see setting below)
  6. All my limit switches work via pressing them and they display (radio button turns blue)
  7. When I hold any limit switch down and initialize, the axis will move for a distance but then error out:

HM001: The machine could not pull off the homing switches.

This could be caused by:

  • Mechanical problems jamming a machine axis
  • A malfunctioning homing switch

  1. So, not sure what to do…
