I’m new to milling and recently acquired a Nomad3. I’m mostly milling brass sheets and am delighted when the jobs complete but keep experiencing issues with disconnects. I have done some research and wound down the speeds and feeds significantly to address the risks of vibration but am still experiencing disconnects, most recently when changing end mill (which could be static).
Is there anything else that anyone might have tried to successfully address this?
Disconnects have two reasons. 1st is the usb connection is flaky. The 2nd and most prevalent is static electricity. Inside an office/home the heating drys out the air. Even in cold garages/shops during the winter the humidity is pretty low in colder climates. You may need to add some ground wires to stop static buildup.
