Hello,
I am trying to cut a series of v-grove’s to make an injection mold for a soup dish.
There’s a ton more todo but I am just trying to get the groove right in CC before I move on to the rest of the design elements.
There is material left at the peak of each groove and I am not sure why it isn’t being cut.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
David

Upload the file?
How was the geometry for the V carving arrived at?
Is a No Offset Contour w/ a V endmill an option?

Oops. Here’s the file. I created a rectangle for each groove. And as I type this I realize maybe the rectangle was too wide for the tool?

Yep! I have learned my lesson. The tool can’t cut what the tool can’t touch!
That will be all for now

Thank you for the prompts - and listening/reading/replying!
This would be a good argument for C3D’s implementing multiple parallel passes to simulate a bigger bit, like the “V” software’s VCarve v-carve toolpath does
