I’m hoping someone can explain to me why the program is ignoring a clearly closed vector. I have attached pics for reference. The simulation shows a pocketed center seal when clearly I have a closed vector selected and need to leave the center portion smooth. Typically I would just do an advanced vcarve for the whole thing but it wouldn’t work that way either so I’m trying to do it piece by piece. I even tried created an addition inner ring and it ignored that on as well.
TIA
Upload the file in question?
How was the file made?
This is the original file made by the designer I have been using for a couple of years. It simulates fine with an advanced vcarve until I size above 15 inches…??
Imported into Carbide Create and scaled up:
Assigned an Advanced V carving toolpath:
and the preview seems fine:
Attached as a v7 file.

Thanks. I see where you put in a 1/4” end mill as the pocket tool. When I do this I get the same result you did. I was using a 1/32 to get a flat pocket cut and a vcarve edge. I use this process often so I’m not sure why its not working. I just updated to 777 just in case but same result. You can see in the pic that its still showing the carve but pocketing the whole center portion for some reason.
What does the 3D preview look like?
When I define as:
I get:
which previews as expected:

My max depth is only .03". This is as close as I could get to what I am looking for and I not really sure what I did different to make it so. The only other thing that is off is I want the Ribbons (Red 1) to e raised like the other Ribbons(Red 2). Anyway, this is the look I am going for; may have to just go with it. Thanks for all the help and input.
If you’ll upload the .c2d file you are having difficulty with we will do our best to look into it with you.
I got it! I just had to add the right border vectors in the right spots. Sometimes these things are a real pain to get like you want. Just have to keep at it. Thanks for the input, you guys are always willing to help! Thanks again.
