Hi All I need to oil the Z rails as I detect a slight sound from that area.I can not get the Mobil Vactra # 2 but I can get the Drosera MS68,would any one know if that was OK?Thanks.
I have never seen that specific brand/type of oil come up on support.
That said, this site:
indicates that they are equivalent, but I have no idea how accurate/reputable that site is.
Worst case is the two lubricants react badly, gum up the works and you have to clean off your rails and either dissolve the mess/repack bearings and re-oil, or replace the linear blocks:
(though at that point, my inclination would be to buy an HDZ (and some Mobil Vactra No. 2))
Mobil Vactra #2 is often called way oil. It was used on Bridgeport and other heavy equipment to lubricate the moving parts of lathes and mills. It has certain properties so it stays put and in place to lubricate. Here is a quick google search.

From the above the way oil does a lot. I would heed @WillAdams warning about mixing products. I bought a quart of Mobil Vactra #2 on ebay and that is likely a lifetime supply. I also bought pipettes to apply the oil.
