Open vector cut

How do I cut a straight line (open vector) in order to square a fence to the y axis on the left side of my pro5?

Contour, no offset.

If you want the line to be the edge of the cut, make a rectangle slightly wider than the bit and do a pocket instead.

Instead of using Carbide Create, I jump right into Carbide Motion.

I usually use an end mill or the “bit” that comes with the BitZero. I start at one end and push my fence up against the bit. Jog along the Y axis. If it’s anywhere close, the bit will be rotating as it runs the axis. Set the fence on that end however you are going to…clamp, screw, whatever. Then I jog back along to the original point, or near there. Nudge the fence up to the bit and clamp it, screw it, whatever you are going to to. For me, this is better than routing a line. No more marks in your spoil board.

Thanks Gary, great answer.
