Order for the United Kingdom

Hi all,

Has anyone orderd a Shapeoko for delivery in the UK? Were there any duties to pay to Custom and Excise?

Thanks

No but I did order a Nomad3. I paid VAT on the machine and accessories but it seemed not on shipping. No duty was payable. Carbide 3D used FedEx and did a good job of the paperwork so I was able to pay the VAT whilst the machine was on the aircraft which meant no delay at the UK airport/import depot.

Thanks @flynnjs ! That’s really helpful to know,

Some people outside the US buy from resellers. I am sure your taxes and import fees are included in the price. So maybe check out if there are any resellers in the UK.

I got my SO3 XXL from Robotshop, it turned up without issues with no duties (it shipped from France but that was before the silliness of Brexit took effect).

They seem to have some stock of the SO4 and the Pro, it’s notable that it takes quite a while after C3D release a new machine in the US for it to start showing up with the EU resellers.

Understandably, they would like to sell their old stock first.

Indeed, wasn’t criticising, one also suspects that Carbide might be filling their direct customer orders before stocking up resellers as well.

Yes, but it sure would be nice to get a HDM or a SO5 here on this side of the pond.

Guess I’ll be making another HDZero in the meantime.
