PCB Z-Limit Switch Won't Turn Off

Configuration - SO 3 XL, HDZ, proximity limit switches. PCB version 2.4e

The blue LED for the Z-axis limit switch on the PCB refuses to turn off. Unplugged the Z-axis switch from the daughterboard - still on. Unplugged the entire daughterboard - still on.

X and Y switches work fine - blue LED for those switches turn on when switch is triggered.

Any suggestions? Bad PCB?

Hopefully just a bad switch:

Then why would the light still be on when the switch is disconnected?

(Background - the problem(s) started when the PWM connection wouldn’t control the laser power w/ a J-Tech laser. That’s been a problem before (loose connection), but I was more-or-less done with that job, so I converted back to the VFD spindle - relatively straightforward. Re-sent the configuration from Carbide Motion, and here we are. Z-axis wouldn’t home.)

“Hopefully”

My suggestion then would be to replace both.

UPDATE:
A new control board (version 2.4g) solved the motion problem

But now the VFD V1 spindle won’t spin. It ignores the M3S10000 command from the MDI panel in Carbide Motion (build 659).

The new control board was set up as a “New Machine” in Carbide Motion and the VFD option was selected. All the physical connections seem to be OK. What gives?

EDIT:
If I hold down the JOG button on the VFD controller, the spindle will spin up to 1200 RPM, so I know the problem is not the spindle or SO control board.
