Pi5 with Touch Screen setup for Carbide Motion

Hey everyone! My dedicated laptop for my Shapeoko finally bit the dust and I’ve decided to go more compact and try the pi route. I went with an 8gig Pi5 and Touch Screen 2 setup. I’ve setup everything according to the instructions, plug the usb of the machine to the pi, but when I try to click on the Carbide Motion shortcut on the desktop, nothing happens. Surely user error somewhere down the line, but barring tearing this thing back out of it’s casing and reimaging the SD card, I’ve exhausted my Linux knowledge to get it to work.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Which OS are you running?

Did you run software update?

What permissions have you enabled/changed?

Do you get any sort of log/error message?

Hey Will! Thanks for the reply.

OS: Debian (Bookworm)
Yes, ran the software update
I added my user to dialout, everything else is default
No error messages or anything. When I click the Carbide Motion icon, it’s just static. Doesn’t load anything, or even seem to register anything

32 bit OS or 64 bit OS?

As per the instructions, 32-bit. Does it now support 64-bit?

Reimaged it and now it works like a charm! I should have done this forever ago, hah
