Hey i was hoping someone will tell me news to think otherwise than that i just got ripped off. Just bought the xxl used and i dont think its getting power to the drivers etc. when i plug it in the main cord shows its getting power but the box shows nothing. Im pretty sure he sold me one with a fried controller. on the end i see a 6 prong input that i dont see any wires to plug into, thinking its maybe the emergency off button? and under that is a small bulb that im guessing would turn red if power made it to there. Obviously computer is not detecting machine. Is there anything else i can test or try to see if this is salvageable?. is the emergency kill switch necessary to complete the circuit to get power maybe? any advice would be greatly appreciated
We have a page on this at:

For the power, the usual problem is missing the small in-line power switch in-between the power supply and the controller — is that on?
If you plug the power supply, does it light up promptly and stay steadily lit? If so, it’s probably good.
Post a photo of your machine and we can provide you with a link to buy a new controller if that’s necessary.
That 6-pin connector is for a BitRunner (or VFD spindle)
Please review the docs at:
i didnt see anything in the link about setting up, that was more for designing once its already up and running
nevermind i clicked the wrong link but ive been thru there i do appreciate you replying but its just flat looking like he gave me a fried controller im sick
Just to cover all the bases and the obvious, there is a power switch on the front of the machine, and there may be a power switch in-line with the power supply. Did you try every combination of “on/off” with those switches?
It’s also worth taking a peek under the cover of the controller box (the black sheet metal) to make sure everything is plugged in. If the wire harness that goes to the machine’s power switch is unplugged (or otherwise damaged), it will act completely dead. Won’t even connect to the computer properly.
Even though the power light is coming on on the power brick does not mean that it is working properly. You should verify that the power supply is actually delivering power to the controller. Take a DC volt meter and prob the output pins on the power supply connector. Be very careful not to short anything when you are doing so.
