Hey there. my collet got ruined and the bit got ripped out of it. Question do i need the precision collet or can i use the one that came with the router or any collet. It’s not the 25$ that bothers me about replacing it, it’s the 40$ in shipping and duty fees as i don’t live in the U.S.
is this the mikata part i need to replace my .25 precision collet? MRP-2500 1/4" 763637-1?
When the first precision collets were tried out on the Makita they were found to cut much better than the stock collets.
They are available from our resellers as well as other manufacturers.
Check tolerances on them, if they arent listed or are above .0005" they aren’t what you want.
AA grade should mean a specific tolerance but it does appear people are abusing that designation so avoid anything without a listed tolerance.
