Preparing rough cut lumber for machining

An improvement on the straight lines would be to use arcs at the ends for smoother movement.

If one wants to surface off for example an 8x12 area:

then the easiest way to do this is to increase the Stock Width by 2 inches and the Height by 1 inch:

Center the rectangle showing the area one wishes to cut as a reference:

Align Vectors

and then draw in the ends:

(and increase the Grid size to match the desired stepover)

Then go into Node Edit mode:

and Cut each circle:

then delete:

Done

Draw in geometry to connect things:

Select the geometry and use Join Vectors to connect it:

Then use Linear Array:

To replicate as needed:

Draw in the final bits of geometry if need be:

and join as well:

Then adjust as desired for Stock size, origin, toolpath, &c.
