I am working on a quilt hanger for my wife, which will involve making a few replicate parts. I have used layers for the different features (and cuts). But when I try to duplicate the part it seems to dump them all into the same layer. Is there a way to copy a group of features that are on different layers, and preserve the layer assignments? This would keep the relative positions of the features. (I’m using Carbide Create build 729 if that makes a difference).
Seems like it would be nice to have a part duplicate. Highlight a part and fill the board with an array of replicates. I can see utility in something like that.
Also, I noticed when working with layers that it might be nice to have some options such as:
Hide all layers
Hide all other layers
Show all layers
Having to click through each layer to toggle was a bit of a pain. (I did try clicking on the eye icon, but it did seem to do anything).
Ok, I tried using the array function, but it does not preserve the layers either
So, if I COPY, DUPLICATE, make and ARRAY all the vectors that are created are dumped on to the same layer… Is there a way to have the pasted vectors be on the same layers as their parent vector?
This discussion makes me want to ask (again) to have the name of the active layer on the design screen - somewhere - using whatever name we gave it (or Layer 1, 2, 3, etc.).
I’d think this would be simple simple - and would help make where things are being created more obvious.
