thanks, everyone pretty much said the same thing. hopefully my parts come out .2mm closer to dimension once some new collets come in.

nice to know im not the only one.
Just for a bit if reinforcement, I am a proponent of Precise Bits and use their DeWalt 611 collets on my smaller machine. I use bits as small as .012” on that machine with excellent results. I have always received excellent advice from that entire team over there. Hats off to them and I am sure the advice given here is solid.

i did end up ordering 2 new collets from PreciseBits, purely because i didn’t need new nuts, and it was cost effective.
