Has anyone tried to face mill a Putter with the Shapeoko 5 Pro. I’m wanting to put a circular path on it, like the Scotty Cameron putters.
Those are likely made with a fly cutter where the cut spacing is controlled by feedrate and the whole operation takes less than a minute.
To do this on a Shapeoko, I’m guessing a Vee Bit with a rounded or flat tip, maybe 0.010" wide?
Find a circle the right diameter, trim it, then use the array function to copy it.
Then mirror the vectors & position them the opposite way.
Thank you so much!!! I’m new to all this, just got my Shapeoko 5 Pro a couple weeks ago. This is just what I needed, Thank you again… I really appreciate it.
Hey Jerry,
Here’s the original video they are discussing: https://youtu.be/iMm7HnN_8aQ
You could definitely face mill an existing putter. Like any precision project, the setup will be critical.
The putter created in that video is in regular use.
