Question to those who use Aluminium

Hello everyone hope you are well!!

Quick question Aluminium is a medium i know NOTHING about  been asked to make a stand off sign that will already have a design on the Aluminium. my question is it is on a sheet that is 50x50 CM and is 2mm thick, how bendy will this be if at all are we talking paper card or steel ruler stiffness.

the sign will look like this image

with a wood back and Aluminium front - so trying to figure out how / how many stand offs i will need

As always thanks in advance for your knowledge and feedback

Kinda bendy, but depends a lot on the alloy. 2024 T3 will be pretty stiff. 6061 will be kinda more bendy and likely to take a set. Both are more towards “ruler” stiffness than “card”, with 2024 stiffer than 6061.

At that size, 50cm square, I’d guess 3 per side (one in the middle, and once on each corner) would probably be ok, but you’ll have to try it. If the backing is stiff enough, it won’t matter much (the back can keep the front in tension).
