Quick help and thank you in advance!

Had to tear my spindle down the other day to replace the collet. Left it where others could use it and apparently the threads were the victim. Where do these washers go? I’m silly and forgot to take a pic of where they go.

I would talk to support. The main problem with reassembly is getting the correct pressure on the bearings. Too loose and you will end up with runout and chatter, too tight and they run hot and fail. The latest spindles have some goop on them to keep the nut in place and act as a witness for movement (tampering).

Thanks! I’ll give them a call. It’s a Nomad Pro so the spindle is fairly simple. It’s not like I tore down a router.

Not sure if you’ve had a reply yet but I just tore down an old N3 spindle and there is one washer on the outside of the bearing at both ends. So assembly would be in this order

  • spindle
  • washer
  • bearing
  • spindle block
  • bearing
  • washer
  • pulley
  • nut

Thanks Anthony,

Don’t know why I had it in my head that both washers were next to each other somewhere in that mix/order. I appreciate the help thank you!
