Recommendations for a router that takes 1/2" collet. I’m using a Shapeoko 5.

I’ve been using a Amana 6mm to 10mm adaptor to hold my 10mm bit. But the Amana will break after some time. Looking for a better solution.

Unfortunately, there isn’t such a router in a diameter which will fit in one of the mounts available for the SO5 Pro (65mm, 69mm, or 80mm (but note that latter is not available separately and the 80mm mount in our shop is for the HDZ)).

The only official mount which will accept a unit which has a collet system which will accept 1/2" tooling is the 80mm which is included in our 80mm VFD spindle kit:

EDIT: I don’t believe using the adapter is a good idea — adds to runout and creates an additional part which can become shrapnel if it fails — have you tried 8mm (5/16") tooling? Quite a bit more rigid than 1/4" and available in some tool geometries which are useful to the spindles in our machines.
