given a photo:

One imports this into Carbide Create as a pixel image in the background:

and then selects the polygon tool:

and begins drawing…

then go into Node Edit mode:

select the nodes which need to have curves:

and choose Smooth:

Then drag the off-curve nodes around to shape things as desired:

holding down the Alt key to create asymmetric sharp nodes, until one arrives at:

Once things are drawn up, one will want to assign toolpaths — since a router cannot cut as sharp a corner as a scroll saw, the best thing to do is to offset by tool diameter plus 10% (in this case we will assume stock thickness of 0.5" and use a #102 endmill so as to minimize the radius):

Then assign a V carving toolpath to cut the details:

then a #102 to cut as a pocket down to tab height:

then cut an outside Contour toolpath starting at the bottom of that pocket:

Then create tabs:

which previews as:

Don’t forget to extend the tenon to fit in the base.
