I like using different layers for tool paths. I think it would be a lot easier if you can replicate vectors to layer instead of copying - > pasting - > transfer to layer - > aligning.

If I’m reading this right, the problem is that you want to duplicate something in place, correct?
You can skip aligning by:
- copying
- moving the cursor out of the drawing area
- pasting (which when the cursor is not in the drawing area will cause a paste to be aligned)
- transfer to layer
It’s the same number of steps, but nowhere near as annoying.

Never thought about it, but I tried copying, changing the active layer, then pasting…
No luck!! Still have to “Move Selection to Layer” ![]()

I have done those very steps a lot in the past successfully. I’ll have to double check and see if that has changed as I rely on 2 - 3 layers of letters to be in the exact same place for signage.
