RESOLVED - Alternatives to Deep Sweep extension for Sweepy

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows of either:

*A Canadian source for the Deep Sweep extension for Sweepy 2.0

*A reasonably priced alternative that works well with the Carbide 65 mm spindle.

I ordered a VFD and spindle from Carbide last week, mounted it and got it all up and running nicely. The problem is that the Sweepy 2.0 is now too short to be of great use. If I knew about that ahead of time, I’d have thrown it into the order. The problem is, that 20 dollar item costs me 40 in shipping to get it here from Carbide direct.

Is there anyone using some type of 3D printed extender with the original Sweepy 2.0 base, or can point me to a secondary source for it? I already ate several hundreds in tax, duty, and exchange losses on the spindle and VFD, so was hoping to get by for a few less bucks on this one.

I actually reached out to support last night to ask if there was an alternate method of shipping and explained the situation. Leanna responded and got me all set up with a more suitable shipping option, and I have a Deep Sweep on the way. Thanks, C3D.

Living in Canada, I knew it would cost more to work with the Shapeoko line. There are other companies that produce machines within an hour of my house, but I was sold on the customer Carbide 3D experience. It’s proven yet again to be the right choice for me.
