Restart Program

I had a power flicker that reset the machine during a job today. Luckily I had recently looked at the line number and used the restart program option with that line number. It worked great.

And then another power flicker and I didn’t happen to catch the line number. Are the line numbers written out to a log somewhere that we can reference?

In this case it was pretty near the end and not a critical element so I recovered.

Unfortunately not. The hard part (doing the restart) is implemented, but the UI and associated information needed to make is really usable is still missing.

Use an UPS. That way if there is a power flicker the machine keeps going. And if the power remains out for an extended period of time you can pause the program, note the line# and restart later once the power comes back on.

I have a 220v spindle and am guessing a UPS for that is expensive.
It hasn’t happened often for me and if it looks likely I just don’t cut. This one came out of nowhere.

Around 350 bucks on Amazon, I would call that reasonable.

If it were a regular occurrence maybe.

A regular UPS would keep CM from stopping the carve, you can always pause the machine if the 220 drops out, note the line# and restart after power returns. Even with the 220V UPS, that only takes care of the VFD, not the computer/S5.1 Pro.

Right. It would take 2 UPSs. Or really three since ai put my vac and coolant pump on a different circuit than the C3D controller and computer.

I’m just not that worried about it. We are trying to sell our house though so who knows what the new place would bring.
