So when you break a bit in the middle of a long cut, it’s super annoying to have to start the whole thing all over again. I haven’t heard anybody talk about this but I’m wondering if there is a way to find out where you are in the g code and resume a cut after replacing the bit? This would be so incredibly awesome if it was possible. It may be but I don’t know how to do it.
This is not an option in the current version of Carbide Motion.
If a toolpath has been cut completely, it may be disabled so that it won’t be cut again, otherwise, one has to edit.
In theory one could edit the G-code, but that would require determining where the cut ended, and where the matching point in the G-code is.
That is unfortunate because that is a big issue with a long job and having to start it all over again. I guess my next question would be is there another program that does do that?
gSender has a “start from line” feature.
