I have a part. It has multiple layers, one for each toolpath needed to create it. It works. All is wonderful.
My Evil Plan for World Domination™ requires multiple parts, so I use rectangular pattern to fill the working area with copies – and all of the copies get crunched to the default layer.

Why? Why? There’s no reason for this behavior (or grouping/copy paste doing the same thing). It’s deleting semantic information.
I know from searching the forums that others have raised this concern. This should have been fixed long ago. It needs to get fixed ASAP.
