Rockler Pneumatic Clamping System

Has anyone tried using this for workholding?

Looks interesting & I would imagine it works quite well. But I detest the air-lines. I would not want to deal with all those tubes running amok everywhere. If doing production work of the same thing all the time, then I could see using it. Or in a shop environment in which you’ve got dedicated stations.

I have used these to hold drawer parts for assembly. For what I used them for they worked great on the same sized drawers but having to adjust/change the setting for other sized drawers took longer than holding the parts to glue and nail. To answer your question I think one problem you will have using these is material lift when you clamp. These may tend to slightly lift the material off the spoil board and cause you problems. If the clamps are mounted square you may not notice any issues. If your spoil board is worn and the clamp shifts slightly when fastened to the table that is where a problem can start.

I do agree with this especially if you mount the air clamps on its own board and have mounts on your spoil board in the same place.
